The below information has been sent by David Loaring

'' There is an error in the article concerning the Oundle memorial to William Loringe, in particular the text of the memorial. It should read ". . . linially descended from the brother of Sir Neale Loringe . . ."
Sir Nigel (Neale) Loring(e) had daughters only, no sons.
He had two younger brothers, William and Thomas, both lawyer priests. I believe William had a large family (priests continued to have families for many years after 1066). This William Loryng lived 1322 to 1415, was Canon at Lincoln, Wimborne, and Salisbury, and professor of Sacred Theology at Merton College, Oxford.
If you examine the plaque on this very nice photograph you can read the text well enough. A relative of mine made the same error on a drawing of the memorial.
I believe there are indeed famous descendants of Sir Nigel, amongst them Sir Winston Churchill, and of course the young Princes.''
