Whitehaven used to be the second busiest port behind London, exporting coal, iron ore and landing fish. This metal sculpture reflects the fishing that still occurs but in much smaller amounts.
A coastal walk starts here, heading south to St Bees. (visit link)
The sculpture is hollow in the shape of a pyramid, with individual fish joined together to form a surface. Eyes and fins are shown. A circular base spirals up to a few fish leaping.
