Cape Byron is the most easterly point on the Australian mainland and is home to the famous Cape Byron Lighthouse (see WM1EWY).
Tourists from all over the world flock to the township of Byron Bay and visit this great location at the Eastern tip of the Australian coastline.
Amazing views in all directions can be found.
There is a NSW National Parks sign at the most easterly point and a brick podium with the direction East identified.
You can drive to the car park at the top of the headland ($7 fee) or park at one of the small car parks on the road up and walk for free entry. Visitors to this location will need to be able to walk the stairs down to the point from the lighthouse.
