In Needham, on Great Plain Avenue at the eastern edge of the downtown section, is the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Needham. This brick structure, holds the local branch church congretation.

The church is situated on Great Plain Avenue, between a nursery and the Baptist Church, and across the street from the Needham YMCA.

The structure is made of brick and is adorned with stonework and white painted woodwork, and has a peaked roof that extends the length of the building. The front of the church has four white Doric columns and two pilasters. Stairs lead up to the three sets of doors (the center one is one used for entry). The cornerstone is located to the left of the stairs (when facing the church). Trim runs around the porch overhang and the roofline edge. Pained windows are on either side of the porch and run along the sides to the rear.

The church inside is a large open auditorium space with white benches and a stage and podiums at the end. Below the auditorium is the Sunday School.

Services are on Sunday at 10:30 am, and the Testimony Meeting is on Wednesdays at 8:00 pm. On New Years's Eve, as part of Needham New Year celbrations, the church is one of the performance venues.

Parking is available behind the church accessed from Dedham Avenue, and on street parking on Great Plain Avenue.

The Reading Room is located on Chestnut Street in a retail building.
