At 6,000+ elev. this lake is preferred for fishing rather than swimming. The chalet is near the end of the paved road, but the center point of an area that is open to winter recreation (snow mobile sometimes).

It can be rented for reunions, or family gatherings during the summer. I think it might sleep 20 or more? some on the floor?

The Sacramento utility district and the forest service maintain the road as long as possible.
Folks must be able to climb stairs. Accomodations are on the second level, there is a large deck. Parking would be for 12 vehicles or more. There is a heliport if you have the means. Extra folk might be allowed to use a support trailer? The nearest camp store is at Ice House during the summer, 20 mins. downhill. Stock up before coming in on the Ice House Rd. from US 50. REMEMBER the ELEVATION.
Always bring cold weather gear. It can be windy too. This is over an hour from the nearest town and should be considered a remote location, depending on when you are there. Jeepers tend to run on 3 day weekends. A good parade?!

1/2 hour or more if you side track north of US highway 50. Last in a chain of hydro lakes on the Ice House Rd. Turn immediately after the highway crosses the American River. Expect many switchbacks.
