Dinosaurs and other weird anomalies were resurrected in the 1960s on land in Virginia that time has ignored.

Back in the '60s, there was a man named Joseph Geraci who ran a gift shop called Rebel Korn'r on US 522/340 in White Post, Virginia and thought he'd add a couple of dinosaurs on the corner. But he decided why stop there and added more dinosaurs and put up a sign with Disneyland-like letters renaming the place Dinosaur Land.

The land that time forgot still exists in all its kitschy, cheesy, tacky, weird glory with three dinosaurs still standing at the intersection. The weirdness starts out front where a 70' octopus and a 60' shark frame the letters Dinosaur Land that are visible to travelers as they pass by on the highway. (Dinosaurs?! Maybe BIG Sea World.) A big reptilian mouth marks the entrance into a Mesozoic World that not only awes you with conquering carnivores, epic battles, the pteranodon, tyrannosaurus, allosaurus, corythosaurus, triceratops, and about 15 other species, but there are more gargantuan anomalies! Among these earth-shaking behemoths, there lurks a 13' praying mantis, a 20' king cobra, a mammoth, a giant sloth and King Kong! Climb the ramp and you can sit in King Kong's hand as he rampages through the woods holding a plane in his other hand.

Other oddities include the cacti and frogs that are interspersed in the woods among the dinosaurs, particularly the cactus next to the octopus and the frog under the mammoth.
