Joseph Batt promised to build a shrine in memory of Our Lady, Help of Christians when he and his family were saved from a storm while crossing the Atlantic in 1836. There is a large outdoor shrine built from local fieldstone. The shrine is on a major highway and we saw many people taking their lunch break there . It's a "People Shrine".

The Stations of the Cross were built sometime after 1891. There is a small altar at the top of the walkway.
