A beautiful area which is great for letting the kids runs and the geopets explore! Please take caution to not step off the paths and the area is a huge seed garden designed to consider the sustainability of Australias native plants and vegitation.

The Playford Council has developed this public seed orchard to allow the convenient, safe and rapid collection of high volumes of local-native seeds with minimal impact on remnant populations.
This seed orchard allows the use of high volume collection techniques such as planting and weed matting to allow falled seeds and fruits to be collected by sweeping and the use of trellising that greatly facilitates the access to seeds.
These local plants in turn provide habitate and food sources that attract local native birds, insects and animals. Unlike most of its namesakes this orchard has been specifically designed to encourage and accomodate these visitors! Heavy mulches, logs and locally sourced quarry rubble provide additional shelter and opportunities for fauna to make a temporary or even permanent home.
This project seeks to redress the problem of scarce seed resources and seeks to produce quantities of seed that can be used for extensive revegetation on the Northern Adelaide Plains and Hills Face Zone in the Playford area.
The Little Para River Seed Orchard is expected to produce a commercial quantity of seed that can be used for tube stock and direct seeding revegetation programs on the northern Adelaide Plains and Hills Face Zone in the City of Playford.
It will make significant contribution to the Biodiversity Corridors project in the form of providing a long term reliable and efficient seed source for revegetation projects. The Biodiversity Corridors Project is a long term strategy where the biodiversity of City of
Playford is improved through revegetation of the Smith Creek, Adams Creek and Little Para River riparian corridors in conjunction with revegetation along the Hills Face Zone.
The Seed Orchard is to be planted and constructed to a landscape design plan making it an example of local native species that can be used to great effect in the home garden.
Additionally it will be a space that local residents will find attractive for passive recreation, community involvement and landcare participation and education.
