Fun Spot was a icon for the area. It is still sorely missed by many. It opened in 1955 and in all those years lots of people came to know and love the place. Best guesses for the reason it closed was just over extending and at a bad time in the economy. It didn't seem to be for a lack of people who liked to return to the place year after year.

As of 2012 their web site is still up at (visit link) but only the home page saying the park is closed is showing. Fortunately many of the old web pages for the park are posted with this waymark as well to give you an idea of what the park had in its final year. As of 2012 the park is still standing and could be resurrected with funding. However time will take its toll I am sure so if you want to get a glimpse of it the sooner you stop the better.
