Marshall was born on March 14, 1854 and practiced law in Columbia City till he was elected governor of Indiana in 1909 till 1913 and then was elected Vice President to Woodrow Wilson for two terms from 1913 till 1921. He died on June 1, 1925. This marker was placed here by the Indiana Sesquicentennial Commission in 1966.
