Can be really wet and muddy or dry depending on the time of year you visit. You start off at the edge of the marsh. Water and mud can vary in depth and thickness and seems to go on forever. Once through the real thick stuff, you have about a mile to go. You keep sloshing through the water and mud till about .50 of mile from the spot. From here the cattails and reeds end and it opens up and looks like the salt flats, barren and white.
