This sluice gate is sited along the Saxon Shore Way path opposite Minster in Thanet, Kent. It has two gates, either side of a large concrete wall, controlling the flow of water from one of the many drainage/irrigation ways into the River Stour. Large iron frames hold winch and chain raising mechanism's to open the (presumably) metal gates that, on this occasion were beneath the water line.

The photo's were from the opposite side of the River Stour along the Monk's Wall footpath, accessible from Minster in Thanet.
