There are numerous such silos throughout the district. Some are well maintained, some aren't & some have been converted into accommodation. A couple nearby are a feature of a winery & restaurant appropriately called The Silos.
One of my neighbours who lived to be 88 built these silos, along with his father, in the 1930s. They were designed to hold corn which was the principal feed for dairy cattle at that time. This one is on a farm & can be accessed by driving to the end of Lamonds Lane. The silo is to your south east about 100 metres away. You'll need to do a three point turn to get back to the highway. The fences are electrified so look but don't touch.
