This pull-off area at Noble Meadow provides educational plaques that explore the role of elk in the native ecosystem. The plaques includes samples of fur and antler for visitors to touch and answer questions from the plaques. Elk may be found in this area as they either come down from or go up to higher grazing grounds. One would not expect such a rich exploration display on a pull-off in Colorado's Front Range mountains.
Elk are now being ranched to provide meat in an effort to increase the monetary value of the animals and proved a high protein, low fat meat for the consumer. For more information about elk: (
