The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX) was created in 2007 when three formerly independent GS Councils merged: Cross Timbers (Denton), Red River Valley (Paris), and Tejas (Dallas).

The JoAnn Fogg Center was named after longtime GS of Tejas Council director JoAnn Fogg, who served from 1989 until her death in 2004.
