The war memorial in Rijnsburg is a memorial wall of hand-made brick. On the wall there are two memorial plates. On the first plate (1948) of Maulbrunner sandstone is embossed David with sword as a standing figure. The second plate is made of red granite (1995)
The inscription on the sandstone plaque reads:
'1940 1945
IN GOD ZULLEN WIJ KLOEKE DADEN DOEN EN HIJ ZAL ONZE WEDERPARTIJDERS VERTREDEN
G. HERMANS D. VAN DELFT
EN ZIJ DIE VIELEN DOOR OORLOGSGEWELD'.
In God we will do great things and He will defeat our opponents.
And those who fell through war violence.
Below are the names of a number of civilian casualties.
David depicts the struggle and resistance against the occupier.
The inscription on the granite plate reads:
OPDAT WIJ NIET VERGETEN
Lest we forget
