This marker is located on the property of the Wilbur Wright Birthplace and Museum. The museum features a farm house that is a replica built on the foundation of the home in which Wilbur Wright was born and took his first steps. The museum takes the motto First Steps to First Flight, which is a very fitting tribute to this famous Hoosier. The sign reads:

April 16, 1867 to May 30, 1912
Co-inventor of the airplane with his brother Orville.
