Riverview School is located on County Road "B" and Nottleson Road about 3 miles west of Scandinavia. The schools received the name Riverview School in 1919 when a law mandated that all schools be given a name and have a mailbox at the school. The school has a good view of Peterson Creek to the south.
The first school building was built in 1864 on land owned by Ole Helle on the south side of the road. The second building was built in 1885 on the north side of the road on land owned by T. J. Voie.
This community was Norwegian and taught Norwegian one month each year off season at the school. The teacher was hired by the Norwegian Lutheran Church.
The third school building was built in 1914 in the present location. This lot was purchased for $160.00 from Ed Erickson. The school closed in 1960, the building was sold and is now a residents.
