This fountain once belonged to Quinta das Conchas, a charming property of considerable dimensions.

As the city grew the property fell in decadence and it was mostly destroyed due to the huge urban project Alta de Lisboa, which includes now a neighborhood with that name (Quinta das Conchas) and there is even a metro station named Quinta das Conchas. Such is the unstoppable tic tac of time.
So this fountain has a stone carving with a year, probably the year of construction: 1918.
Nowadays it's integrated in the public park serving the community, but located near one of the secondary gates it's kind of hidden and probably most of the people passing buy don't really notice this old fountain. It's in a poor shape, looking sadly abandoned.
