This New Mexico Official Scenic Historic Marker is located on the south side of US Highway 84 at the rest area at the west end of the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. The reverse side shows the location of other similar markers in the general area.

Rio Grande Gorge
State Park

With spectacular views and some of the finest public fishing along the banks of the Rio Grande. From the Colorado border through the park. The "great river" offers exciting whitewater boating through a deep canyon. There are four major camping/picnicking areas along the river.
