EN: The Büttenloch is a small cave in a ravine south of Ettingen. The rock overhang with a niche and a small, now almost filled corridor is situated on a dry creek bed.
The cave was temporarily used as satellite camp by hunting groups in the Magdalenian (around 12.000 BC.). The cave was investigated archaeologically in the 1920s, with many stone artefacts and bone remains - hares, ptarmigan, caribou - were discovered.
DE: Das Büttenloch ist eine kleine Höhle in einer Schlucht südlich von Ettingen. Der Felsüberhang mit einer Nische und einem kleinen, heute fast aufgefüllten Gang liegt an einem ausgetrockneten Bachbett.
Die Höhle wurde im Magdalénien (etwa 12,000 v.Chr.) zeitweise als Aussenlager von Jagdgruppen verwendet. Die Höhle wurde in den 1920er Jahren archäologisch untersucht, wobei viele Steinartefakte und Knochenreste - Schneehasen, Schneehühner, Rentiere - entdeckt wurden.
