At the 'Maximilianstraße' in Speyer, Germany, Rheinland-Pfalz, stands a figurative public sculpture of a pilgrim on the Path of St. James (German: Jakobspilger, Pilger auf dem Jakobsweg).
The height of the bronze sculpture is 3 meters.
It was created in 1990 by Martin Mayer.
It was a donation by the 95th bishop of Speyer: Bischop Anton Schlembach for the 2000-years-anniversery of the city of Speyer in 1990.
There's no plaque with details but a plaque withe the name of the sculpture and some words from the bible:
Jakobspilger auf dem Weg nach Santiago de Compostela
Wir haben hier keine bleibende Stadt, sondern die zukünftige suchen wir. (Hebr. 13,14)
Pilgrim on the way to Santiago de Compostela
We have here no continuing city, but we seek one. (Hebr. 13,14)
