Dubbed "the little library" was built around 1856. It is epitome of gingerbread American Gothic. It originally served as a house for John Rose and was only 15X20 feet. It had a very steep staircase to the 2 gable bedrooms. In 1866 it became Benjamin Nickerson, who was a cobbler, who operated his business out of the home. In 1918 Captain Jonathan Matthews purchased the home to be used as a library.
