On the side of this elevator are the words FEDERAL FERTILIZER CHEMICALS. "FEDERAL" and "FERTILIZER" are still quite legible, but "CHEMICALS" has faded substantially.
Long abandoned, this old elevator is sagging and slowly disintegrating. Not too many years left to view this one.
Built or bought by the Federal Grain Company many years ago, its date of birth is unknown to all but a few. Its style, however, is similar to elevators of the 1930s or 1940s.
