St. Mary of the Seven Sorrows Church (commonly St. Mary's Catholic Church and formerly the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin of the Seven) is located in downtown Nashville.  Built in 1845 it is the oldest existing church building in Nashville.  During the Civil War it was one of several churches in Nashville used by the Union Army as a hospital. - website
