We visited Jerseyland Organics about 8:00 am on a wet and muddy morning. We were not intending to actually tour the dairy that early, however the foreman was most gracious and gave us the tour.

We spotted this unique birdhouse the first thing. It is located at the entrance to the gift shop and where they make their organic cheese and yogurt.

It looks like an old church that could be from the area.

Information about Jerseyland Dairy and the tour:

As part of the tour, you will see the milking barn (and maybe watch the cows being milked). You continue to the back where the Jersey milking cows are fed and tended. The young heifers are kept separate from the milking cows. There were about 40 resting cows (those not bred yet) and the highlight for us was watching two of the baby calves being bottle fed.

In 1994 Jerseyland Organics began commercial production after completing its transition to "Certified Organic" status. Now named Jerseyland Organics, it is British Columbia’s first organic dairy and producer of organic cheese and yogurt.
