The United Church of Canada in Deseronto occupies the church originally consecrated in 1877 as a church of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Services were continually held until 1925, when various factions of Methodism in Canada united to for the present-day United Church of Canada.
Of note is the Masonic symbol in the lower brick work on the south side of the church, indicating Masonic involvement in the church's construction.
