[DE] Von 1953 bis 1989 fand jährlich am 17. Juni vor dem Sockel des zerstörten Kaiser-Wilhelm-Denkmals die zentrale Gedenkfeier zur deutschen Einheit statt. Nach dem Fall der Berliner Mauer wurden in einem Park in der Nähe des Denkmals diese drei Mauer-Segmente als Mahnmal aufgestellt.

[EN] From 1953 to 1989 every year on June 17th in front of the base of the ruined Kaiser Wilhelm monument, there was a memorial service for German unity. After the fall of the Berlin Wall these three wall segments were set up as a memorial in a park near the monument.
