EN: The Evangelical-Reformed Church of St. Margaretha is located in the old town center of Frenkendorf. It originated from an old chapel and was enlarged and expanded in the 16th and 17th century. The old chancel arch and the width of the original nave are still visible. The south side and the present tower were built in the Gothic style in 1615/16, the west entrance in 1686. In the 18th century the nave was extended westwards.
The church shows that elements of the Gothic architectural tradition remained alive until the 17th century.
DE: Die evangelisch-reformierte Kirche St. Margaretha befindet sich im alten Dorfkern von Frenkendorf. Sie entstand aus einer alten Kapelle, die im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert vergrössert und erweitert wurde. Der alte Chorbogen und die ursprüngliche Schiffsbreite sind noch zu erkennen. Die Südseite und der heutige Kirchturm wurden im gotischen Stil 1615/16 erbaut; der Westeingang entstand 1686. Im 18. Jahrhundert wurde das Schiff nach Westen verlängert.
Die Kirche zeigt, dass Bestandteile der gotischen Bautradition bis ins 17. Jahrhundert lebendig blieben.
