This is a rather special memorial in that it is named after a Nannup local, Marinko "Tich" Thomas, who died in action on July 8, 1966.

This memorial to Marinko "Tich" Thomas was commissioned by the Free Vietnamese Community of Western Australia and the Republic of Vietnam Veterans Association of WA on March 3, 1988. The sculpture is by Huynh Buu Trung and Nguyen Van Khoat.
The memorial stands at a local park also named in honour of Marinko "Tich" Thomas.
