The main windows have been painted in a variety of colours and inside there is an exhibition of local art. The K6 is in good condition, recently painted, and the equipment has been removed. It is adjacent to the Du Cane Arms car park in the village centre.
It a Mk1 model of pre-1939 manufactured by the Lion Foundry Co. This foundry was established by Jackson, Brown & Hudson on the north bank of the Forth & Clyde Canal at Kirkintilloch in 1880. The rational was that the canal vessels would deliver the raw materials and the adjacent Campsie Branch Railway would send out the finished products. The firm was renamed “The Lion Foundry Company” in 1885 and became a limited liability company in 1893. It closed at the end of 1984.
