The Giant aquarium provides you the unique opportunity to meet a piece of tropical nature of the South and Central America. In the first part of the tour you will see a permanently refreshed exhibition of various exponates currently featuring an unique collection of exotic fish sculls. In the next part of your tour you come to a tropical footbridge inside a pluvial forest where you can experience the feeling of being in tropes - combination of heat and humidity of 85-90%. Here you can admire the beauty of plants like various kinds of orchids, bromelias and thilandsias creating unforegetable variety of colors and shapes. The feeling of a pluvial forest is multiplied by occasional tropical rain and morning mist. After you leave the forest you will find yourself at the bottom of a fresh water tropical lagoon inhabited with a community of fish of the South and Central America. About 40 species of fishes at the total number of 500 pieces live here. Beside the fish you probably know from your aquariums you will also see several rarities. You could hardly miss the three-feet-long Colossoma Serrasalsmidae. Most the species belong to the Cichlidae family. They even grow their youngsters in our lagoon. The total volume of the tank is 130 000 liters of water which means 130 tons of weight. The aquarium is 5 metres long, 8 metres wide and 4,8 metres deep. The bottom view is enabled by an 3-inch-thick-acrylate-glass tunnel especially delivered from far Japan. Every thursday the tour is enhanced thanks to a diver feeding the fish. At the end of your visit your guide invites you to our Aquashop which offers a wide range of fishes, aquaristic tools and souvenirs.
