The old trestle rail bridge was constructed in 1924 of local jarrah timber as part of the Busselton to Augusta line which opened in 1925, the line became uneconomic and was closed in 1957.
The bridge is now part of the proposed 106km rail trail from Busselton jetty to Augusta jetty.Two sections of the trail have been completed, the bridge is on the opened Margaret River to Cowaramup section 15km to the north,
