"The Chiesa dei Santi Agostino e Cristina is a Catholic place of worship in Florence, situated on the Costa Scarpuccia, a hill road of the district of Oltrarno.
The church and the monastery were built by Christina of Lorraine for the reformed Discalced Augustinians; hence the dual naming of the building, which, however, was begun in 1640 and designed by Bernardino Radi and Gherardo Silvani, when the grand duchess was already dead.
Extensively modified in 1817, has a single nave on which there are three chapels on each side. Suppressed the order in 1808, the monastery passed into private hands several that profoundly altered the original structure. In 1866 it was bought by Philip Schwarzenberg, who created a new facade, further renovations were made between 1866 and 1873 due to the enlargement of Costa Scarpuccia. Today is desecrated and occupied by offices."
