The Utrecht Ridge is a high sand ridge of Grebbeberg at Rhenen to the Gooi at Houses. The moraine with its forests and heaths rises out of the flat agricultural landscape. The southern part of the Utrecht Ridge has been designated as a National Park (10,000 ha). Besides the moraine the floodplains of Amerongen also belong to the National Park. It is an area of ??woodland, country estates and 'mountains'. You can enjoy hiking and cycling along the moraine, through heathland, past castles and estates, in the floodplains and bos.Op October 8, 2013 The National Park was expanded with the area between the A12 to the A28.
