As well as having a sign, hanging from the pub wall, the pub also has a panel on each face - Cleveland Street and Greenwell Street. The picture on the panels differs from those on the sign.
The panels show a painted image of St George, clad in armour, on a white horse. His lance is thrist in to the dragon. In the background is a figure, kneeling, and in prayer.
The sign has a wooden frame with a painted picture in it. The name of the pub runs across the top in gold lettering. The picture again shows St George on a white horse facing up to a rampant green dragon. St George has a lance in his right hand and a shield, with the familiar, St George's cross in his left.
