EN: Heusler House is a historic building in St. Alban-Tal in Basel. The area was a commercial district that had arisen from the economic facilities of the local monastery in the Middle Ages. What the function of this house was, as well as the origin of the name, I could unfortunately not find out.
The two-story house stands opposite the mills, close to the channel and juts out into the alley. The roof contains small roof windows on three levels, of which the lowest runs over the whole length of the roof. The lintel bears the date 1539, a stone slab with three coats of arms above 1614, perhaps from a conversion at this time.
DE: Das Heusler-Haus ist ein historisches Gebäude im St. Alban-Tal in Basel. Das Areal war im Mittelalter ein Gewerbe-Quartier, das aus dem Wirtschaftsteil des dortigen Klosters entstanden ist. Was die Funktion dieses Hauses war, sowie die Herkunft seines Namens konnte ich leider nicht herausfinden.
Das zweistöckige Haus steht gegenüber den Mühlen nahe beim Kanal und ragt in die Gasse hinein. Das Dach enthält kleine Dachfenster auf drei Ebenen, wovon die unterste über die ganze Dachlänge verläuft. Der Türsturz tragt die Jahreszahl 1539, eine Steinplatte mit drei Wappen darüber 1614, vielleicht von einem Umbau in dieser Zeit.
