A large boulder located on the grounds of the museum has four different types of fossils on its face.

The Selby Rock is named after Billy Selby who up-ended the rock whilst working on a farm owned by the Walker family in Brogers Creek in mountainous country to the east of Kangaroo Valley. Despite poor unsealed winding roads the rock, weighing 25 tonnes, was transported to the museum & put on display.

You can easily make out the various fossils mentioned on the sign despite the numbers mentioned being missing.
