The 100th Meridian was a major milestone for the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1866.
In the 19-teens when the Lincoln Highway was laid out, it passed the Union pacific Railroad dept at Cozad, where a landmark sign "100th Meridian - 247 miles to Omaha" greeted travelers for generations.
Today a replica of that historic sign still stands on the The Lincoln Highway, now better known as the US 30..
