Almost all of the sculptures in Oslo's Frogner Park (there are approximately 150) are by Gustav Vigeland. This is just one of them and is located on the eastern side of the central bridge at the northern end.
It depicts a lifesized naked man about 50 years old with a young naked boy. The bearded man looks down at the boy as they hold hands. The man is somewhat hefty and is contratsed by most of the other male figures in the nearby Vigeland works which seem to have used the identical 30 year old fit man as a model.
Unfortunately, none of Vigeland's works have placards which inform us of a title for the piece...and the poster of this Waymark was unable to find a catologue online. The name of the Waymark will be amended if additional information comes forth indicating the work's true title.
Vigeland constructed the sculptures from 1924 to 1944...but again, there is no information at the site about each individual piece's date.
