"This is another one of the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail markers placed by the Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution after their 1914 State conference in Alexandria, Virginia. The actual trail passed south of the county seat by about two miles, but one of the VDAR members, a Mrs. Gray asked the Virginia Daughters to consider placing the marker at this location in Jonesville to help secure aid from the people of Lee county in marking the trail."
