Where would one expect to find a gaggle of Love Padlocks? The campus of a good sized university would be one guess.

And in the city of Missoula that would be a good guess. The University of Montana campus is on the eastern edge of downtown Missoula and to the north of the campus is a residential area where many of the students live. Between the two is an old truss bridge that once carried Model Ts, Hupmobiles and Model As over the Clark Fork River.
The bridge no longer carries vehicular traffic but today allows hundreds of students to bike or walk to school over a much shorter route than would otherwise be available to them. One young couple in the not too distant past got the idea to hang a love padlock at a viewpoint in the centre of the bridge. The idea quickly caught on and, as of April, 2014, there are about 70 padlocks hanging from the wire at the viewpoint.
There are likely about 140 keys in the river below, as well (most padlocks come with two keys).
