EN: The country house "Zum Tschäck" was built in 1898 by architect Gustav Adolf Visscher van Gaasbeek (1859-1911). The house is unusually modern for the local conditions of the time and a prime example of the rejection of historicism and attention to functionality and comfort, taking into account local climatic and historical conditions in the so-called "country style". Except for the gothic looking windows on the ground floor there are hardly any more stylistic quotations. Due to its functionality, the house looks irregular and hardly representative from the outside. Unfortunately, the original impression was disturbed by a reconstruction in 1920.
DE: Das Landhaus "Zum Tschäck" wurde 1898 von dem Architekten Gustav Adolf Visscher van Gaasbeek (1859-1911) erbaut. Das Haus ist für die Verhältnisse aussergewöhnlich modern und ein exemplarisches Beispiel für die Abkehr vom Historismus und Zuwendung zu Funktionalität und Wohnlichkeit unter Berücksichtigung lokaler klimatischer und historischer Verhältnisse im sogenannten "Landhausstil". Ausser den gotisch wirkenden Fenstern im Erdgeschoss finden sich kaum mehr stilistische Anleihen. Durch seine Funktionalität wirkt das Haus von aussen unregelmässig und kaum repräsentativ. Leider wurde der originale Eindruck durch einen Umbau 1920 gestört.
