Cullen Bullen is a small village in rural New South Wales. It has a strong Progress Association who decided in 2008 to erect a war memorial to honour locals who served their country in times of war.

The memorial is located beside the Progress Association Hall & consists of a painted background of Lest We Forget & a soldier flanked by the Australian flag. A sandstone rock bears the words: Dedicated to all Servicemen & Servicewomen from our community who have served Our Great Country. The rock was dedicated by the Returned Services League of Australia Portland Sub Branch on 22 April 2008.

The memorial was still surrounded by wreaths & crosses of those who have since died following the ANZAC Day Memorial Service held nationally each year on 25 April.

Lest We Forget.
Type of Memorial: Non-Specific Memorial

In Honor Of: Servicemen & Servicewomen from our community who have served Our Great Country.

Marker Text:

Description of Memorial:
I was visiting Cullen Bullen to waymark the village. As I stood beside the memorial a resident approached & explained the background to the memorial. The small crosses bear the names of deceased residents who served in theatres of war & these were carried by grandchildren. After a respectful period of time these & the wreaths will be removed. I have given a detailed description above.
