The Pinion Motel began operations along the old Route 66 as one of many motor courts and motels along this stretch of Central Avenue in east Albuquerque.
Today the Pinion Motel has transitioned to a motel and apartment building, offering cheap accomodations to those who are willing to stay in its tiny single rooms with kitchenettes.
Blasterz expect the march of revitalization to one day reach the Pinion, but for now, it remains a place for the down-on-their-luck and the working girls.
