First of all, let's get this clear: Monett is
not a french-settled town, and it is
not pronounced
mo-nay. It was named after an earlier English settler, and it is pronounced
mo-net. There are
two fountains at this city park. The
other one, nearer the mounted F-4 jet, shoots higher, but seems narrower, and is in a small pond.
This fountain, which is .1 mile northeast of the other, is in its own concrete base. It does not shoot as high, but it is wide. There is a bench just outside the concrete base. This one is shut down during the coldest weather. It is relaxing to sit at the bench and watch the fountain play.
