Spirit Square, at the junction of Yew Street and Mackenzie Avenue, has an interesting history lesson, spread out over about 15 bronze plaques encircling a large open area of concrete and tile. They cover a wide array of local subjects.

FORT HOUSE

Fort House was built ca. 1910 in the classic four-square style of architecture, with a wide veranda across the front and side. Although the house was not part of the fur trade, it was built on land once used by the fort for their buildings and for crops and fodder for the fur traders and their animals.
