"NOPD investigating fatal accident on St. Claude Avenue that leaves bicyclist dead

New Orleans police investigated a fatal accident on St. Claude Avenue Wednesday that left a bicyclist dead.
The incident happened about 10 p.m. near the corner of St. Claude Ave. and Pauline St., police said. The accident occurred on the westbound side of the roadway.
According to police, the 50-year-old bicyclist was struck by a silver Honda Civic while crossing into the car's lane of travel. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The 26-year-old driver of the Honda Civic was not injured in the incident. No charges were filed in connection with the accident, police said.
