Il Nano di Calafuria / Calafuria's Dwarf - Dive Sites on Waymarking.com

Calafuria è una scogliera a sud di Livorno, in Toscana, caratterizzata da un fondale che da pianoro di 10/15 metri degrada formando cigli e franate che vanno fino ad una profondità massima di circa 45 metri, questo già a duecento metri dalla costa, consentendo così belle immersioni, sia da terra che con la barca.

Raggiungere il nano è molto semplice da terra, se avete la vostra attrezzatura potete andare anche da soli, se avete bisogno di una bombola o di attrezzatura a noleggio o di una guida potete rivolgervi ai numerosi diving center della costa da Antignano a Quercianella che vi potranno accompagnare con la barca, ma il mio consiglio è di andare da soli partendo da sotto il ponte ed andare a nuoto.
Sotto la Torre di Calafuria (al centro della scogliera e punto di partenza da riva di numerose immersioni) si trova l’ associazione sportiva “La Torre di Calafuria” dove potrete chiedere informazioni oppure noleggiare attrezzatura, bombola o guida.
Per raggiungere facilmente il nano da soli: entrate in acqua nel piccolo golfo sotto il ponte ed uscite nuotando in superficie verso il lato SUD fino a raggiungere la prima boa quadrata. A questo punto potete immergervi su un fondale di quindici metri (oppure continuare ancora per una decina di metri in superficie) seguendo una rotta di 210-230° per una decina di minuti fino a raggiungere la parete. Scendete e seguitela verso nord tenendola sulla destra: il nano si trova subito alla base della parete ad una profondità di circa 24 metri. Proseguite per un po lungo la parete ricca di corallo rosso... il rientro verso il golfo è per rotta 30°. Per il log è raccomandata una foto col nano!
