The war memorial in Ruinerwold (municipality De Wolden) was established in memory of nine citizens who during World War II by acts of war were killed.

The names of the nine victims read:

E. de Boer, H. Ham, B. Knol, J. Kraal, H. Remmelts, H. Smid, J. Smilde, P. Stevens en H. v.d. Wal.

The war memorial is a black granite memorial stone, flanked by a lower stone of the same material. The memorial is a sandstone slab combined with a text and a logo.

The text on the plaque reads:

'1940 - 1945
VOOR HEN DIE VIELEN

E. DE BOER H. REMMELTS RMZN.
H. HAM H. SMID
B. KNOL P. STEVENS
J. KRAAL H. V.D. WAL
J. SMILDE'.

The war memorial stands at the General Cemetery in Ruinerwold. Here is also an Allied honorary grave.
